Katherine Gimla Carraher (she/her) is a Senior Grants Manager at Third Plateau, assisting foundation clients with their grantmaking by providing targeted support in communications, research and analysis, data tracking, relationship building, and general operations.

Katherine brings years of experience in foundation management, providing comprehensive client support in everything from grant making to governance and compliance to bookkeeping and payroll. Katherine has worked for both nonprofits and a super PAC and has experience in campaign finance compliance in multiple states. Her previous careers as a journalist and academic editor make her a natural fit as Third Plateau’s resident copy editor. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from San Francisco State University.

Katherine has lived on both coasts, as well as in Chicago and Puerto Rico, but now calls the East Bay home. She enjoys curling up with a good book or film noir, appreciating all the Bay Area has to offer, and – most of all – spending time with her two children.
