Karen provides fractional CFO services to clients, bringing more than 40 years of experience helping nonprofit leaders connect financial strategy to organizational mission. Known as the Steward of Strategic Clarity, she specializes in nonprofit finance, compliance, budgeting, grant management, financial systems, and organizational leadership.

Since 1986, Karen has supported a wide range of nonprofit organizations and private businesses through consulting and leadership roles in accounting and finance. Her experience includes serving as a shared CFO for a collaborative of environmental nonprofits, earning the Pittsburgh Business Times CFO of the Year award in 2019, and later serving as Senior Director of Finance for Manchester Bidwell Corporation. She joined Creating Answers before transitioning to Third Plateau.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from William & Mary and is a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania. Originally from Virginia, she now lives in Pittsburgh and enjoys reading, hiking, cycling, music, and gardening.
