Ana Luo Cai

Associate

Ana Luo Cai is an Associate on the Democracy Team, where she supports development work across various democracy projects, namely providing support and streamlining processes with incoming and outgoing grants.

Previously, she was a Senior Policy and Budget Associate for the New York City Public Advocate, advancing just and equitable policies and funding initiatives for all New Yorkers. There, she focused on uplifting and shaping the Public Advocate’s policy agenda, which included the introduction of dozens of bills and the subsequent passage of them into law.

Outside of work, Ana is a board member of the Asian American civil rights nonprofit, OCA-NY, where she has organized numerous self-defense classes for Asian women and youth across New York City and beyond. A proud product of NYC public schools, Ana received her B.A. in political science and public policy from the City College of New York, CUNY. In her free time, you may find Ana exploring a used bookstore, getting distracted by a cat on the street, or keeping up with the New York Knicks a little too closely.
