Matthew Kolbert (he/him) is an Associate on the Jewish Community Impact team at Third Plateau. He supports our work with Jewish organizations through client management, research, and operational support.

Matthew began his career as a Jewish communal professional at Berkeley Hillel, where he empowered diverse student leaders to embrace the intersection of Judaism and social justice. He later joined Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, where he facilitated the Jeremiah Fellowship, a community-organizing cohort meant to develop the next generation of progressive Jewish leaders. Most recently, Matthew worked in the People Operations field, supporting organizations to grow and manage people-centered cultures.

Matthew earned his B.A. in Jewish Studies from Vassar College and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Born and raised on Long Island, New York, he lives with his partner and pet poodle in West Hollywood, California. There, you might find him whipping up a Shabbat meal, searching for the most walkable neighborhood in LA, or belting along to his favorite Broadway ballads.
